The house that Jane built


Jane Addams was a little girl that lived in an elegant house in Chicago. When she was six years old she understood that not everyone lived like her so she vowed that one day she would in a horrid little house and she would find a way to fix the world. 
She loved reading and she also graduated but when she finished school she didn't know what to do with her live and after a month her father died.
After two years she went to London with her friends and she saw a lot of poor people that had nothing. So she decided to find a place to help poor people, a settlement house like Toynbee hall. Jane find the perfect house in Chicago in one of the wort neighborhood in the city. So she bought this house and called it Hull House to thanks the mistress. She opened the house and she decided to leave Hull house unlocked for all the people.

In the house it didn't go always very well bat Jane find always a solution. In the house there wasn't running water to bathe so she created a public bathe. She created also a playground for children and during the morning she started a kindergarten. That house changed the life of million people and today in America there are a lot of community and thay have Jane Addams to thank.

                               STORY ABOUT MY CHILDHOOD

I was only ten years old when my family and I went on holiday in Cattolica. In those days, during the week of Ferragosto, there was people everywhere . One day we decided to go to the beach and after at the restaurant. The beach as full of people but we found a little place. Suddenly when I was going to the toilette with my mum I didn't see her. I was really worried because I was in trouble. But I heard the voice of my mum screamer my name so I immediately found her and  continued my holiday!

              What a fright!  

It was a hot day of August when my family and I went to Ditellandia with my aunt and my  cousins. It was a very funny day and there was a lot of people. So my sister and I decided to have a bath, but my sister was only 7 years and she couldn't swim. When we were  in the pool we were having fun but suddenly my sister starts screaming because the water was so deep and she was unable to go back near the edge. So the lifeguards save her. My mum was really worried and at last it was over  I breathed a sign of relief.

                              The dangerous driver

When I got on the bus, it was very crowded and I couldn't find a seat, so I sat down near the driver. It was a very sunny day and it was so hot and in the bus there was a smell. While the driver drove, he was talking at phone maybe with her wife. The two were discussing about their wedding and the only thing that I heard was that his wife wanted to separate. Suddenly the driver starts screaming  and I was very scared because he was driving very fast and dangerously. So I decided to talk with him and asked him to lay the phone and drive in a safe and quiet way. After that I breathed a sign of relief and the driver thanked me because he didn't realize of what he was doing.

                    Everything is well that that it ends well

 It was a beautiful night of summer when my father collapsed. My family was at my grandmother's house. They were talking all together and suddenly my father fell to the floor. When it happened I was eight years old but I went out with my cousins so I wasn't there. My family was really worried so they immediately called the ambulance. In the end when my father arrived to the hospital the doctor told us that he had a heart problem but with a simple surgery everything would be okay. It was a very worrying night!

                        The undertaker

When I opened the gift box I found a book about the undertaker. At the beginning I was a little bit scared about that book because it was a vary weird gift.
After that, in the days after my birthday, I started reading "How to became an undertaker". When I opened that book I heard some crows sing, but I didn't care about it and I started reading. When I finished that nook I realised that when it was with me it brings me luck, and when it wasn't with me bad thing happened to me.
In the end I finally realised that it was a magic book because alol the time that I read that book the crows song and it brought me luck. Than book belonged to a victim of an accident that lived near my house but I don't know why that book was in my gift box!
