THE HISTORY OF PANCAKE DAY

Risultati immagini per pancakePancake Day is a traditional feast day and is always and Tuesday in February or March. This day is also called Shrove Tuesday and this day is before the start of Lent. In other country like Italy, Shrove Tuesday is at the end of carnival.
Before Lent, people usually make pancakes with butter and eggs because they have to finish these ingredients because during Lent, they can't eat "rich food" and those products would go bad. In these day people eat pancakes for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
An other traditions of pancake day is a pancake racing that is people run in a race with pancake in a pan and they have to toss pancake in the air for least three times and they have to arrive first at the finish line. The prize is to serve pancakes at bell and give him a kiss.
The most famous race takes place in Olney.
